It was the very warm meteo to characterize the GP of Lombardia that took place during the weekend on the Ottobiano track. The riders had to face limit conditions especially during the day of Saturday, when the temperatures reached above 40 ° C. Fortunately, during the early hours of Sunday morning, a strong summer thunderstorm dropped in The area around the track that hosted the GP, significantly lowered the temperatures and the race day was absorbed more easily by everyone. In the MX2, Jeremy Seewer (Team Suzuki World MX2) on board of his Suzuki RMZ 250 equipped with the control unit RX1 EVO, the data acquisition system M40 and the innovative Launch Control LC-GPA system  won the GP after a fantastic first position in race 1 and the second place in the final moto. With the seven points recovered, Seewer approaches the top of the overall that always sees as leader Pauls Jonass with 38 points ahead of the Suzuki driver. In the MXGP class another masterpiece by Antonio Cairoli (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), which with the KTM 450 SXF supported by Athena has won the both moto and its eighty-one overall success in an world GP. On the hot Lombard's sand, TC222 was the fastest rider since qualifying on Saturday when, starting around the fifteenth position, he recovered to win the pole position. In both moto of the race, Tony got the hole shot and in race one was able to remain on the lead all the time rejecting the attacks of his teammate Jeffrey Herlings (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) also riding a KTM 450 SXF supported by Athena. At the start of the second race, Cairoli was less responsive and after another hole shot, rode a coule of laps in second position behind Arminas Jasikonis (Team Suzuki World MXGP) on the Suzuki RMZ 450 equipped with the M40 data acquisition system. The Lithuanian leadership was just the right time to take "target" from TC222, who immediately took over the command of the pack. Behind him, however, Herlings quickly come back to believe that he could ruin the "national" party at Tony and the thousands of fans who began to acclaim him. Unfortunately for Jeffrey, it was not like that, and in fact, Tony gave the impression of "playing" with his opponent and made him believe that the "joke" could just be a good run for a couple of laps. When the eight-time World Champion decided to push really, Herlings lowered the guard and suffered the "punch" of KO. Just a couple of laps and TC222 put between him and his opponent over 10 seconds that allowed him to complete the race with the second win and its affirmation in the home land GP. With his eighty-first victory in a prestigious GP, Tony has increased his lead in the overall standings which now sees him in the lead with 67 points of advantage.
