Round 4: GP of Mexico - Leon - 02.04.2017

 

Two week after the GP of Argentina, the motocross world championship has moved to Mexico for the fourth GP of the season that saw the protagonists of the fights run on the track situated inside the metropolitan park of the city of Leon, in the state of Guanajuato, located at an altitude of about 1800 meters above sea level. In MX2, was the Swiss Jeremy Seewer (Team Suzuki World MX2) riding the Suzuki RMZ 250 equipped with the control unit RX1 EVO, the data acquisition system M40 and the innovative Launch Control LC-GPA system  to conquer the best result of day. Round 3: GP of Patagonia Argentina - Neuquen - 19.03.2017

After the first two races held in Qatar and Indonesia, the Motocross World Championship 2017, he moved to Villa La Angostura, a town situated in the southern part of the Argentine provinces of Neuquen, on the north-western shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi , in the beautiful scenery of Patagonia. The Sicilian, having finished third in Saturday's qualifying, controlling his opponents and without discovering the "card" to play, lived a not perfect day. After two not exceptional start, Tony has committed in both moto two small mistakes that forced him to felt down. Although he was back on the bike, the Sicilian champion was forced to difficult recoveries that have been arrested in ninth and fifth position in the two races. After the Argentinian race, Tony took the second position in the championship standings, just ten points behind the leader.

The Dutchman led the race for five laps and then give the leadership to an opponent but by controlling the position until the checkered flag. With the result achieved in Indonesia, Coldenhoff back up to sixth place in the overall standings behind by Jeremy Van Horebeek (Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Team) on board his Yamaha YZF 450 equipped with the control unit RX1 Ages, the acquisition system and data M40 the innovative Launch Control LC-GPA.

Athena signs a new agreement with MXGP

Athena has renewed and boosted its collaboration with Youthstream in the role of official partner of the FIM Motocross World Championship and the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations. In 2017, the company from Vicenza will once more be alongside Youthstream with a view to supporting the national and international development of motocross.

Based in Alonte, the Italian group is in constant expansion both at home and abroad, and is the world leader in the design, development and production of ECU (engine control units) with the GET trademark, and in the manufacture of kits containing extra-high-quality mechanical spare parts such as gaskets, cylinders, pistons, connecting rods and chains.

“This year we have renewed and boosted our commitment with Youthstream, because we believe that this partnership is an essential strategic choice”, said Erardo Ratzenbeck, Vice-President of Athena Spa. “Athena is expanding in a number of sectors, but motocross remains one of our priority business areas, a market in which we are seeking to consolidate and strengthen our position”.“

As official sponsor, the Athena and GET logos will be visible in a strategic position on the banners at the side of the track during all the races in the FIM Motocross World Championship, and during the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations, which will be taking place at Matterley Basin in Winchester, England. The agreement also provides for the Athena logo to be displayed on the official webpage of MXGP (www.mxgp.com) and on the backdrop used when the prizes are awarded.

The partnership officially began with the first MXGP race in Qatar last weekend.
