Jonass and Cairoli confirms the top positions of the motocross world championship.

Round 10: GP of Russia - Orlyonok - 11.06.17

The 2016 Motocross World Championship started the second part of the season on the Orlyonok track in Russia. Despite located close to the Black Sea track, the Russian week-end reserved completely different weather conditions during the two days spent on the track. Saturday, sun and summer temperatures have characterized the qualifications races, while Sunday's day was marked by a real rain storm. In the MX2,  Pauls Jonass (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) on the KTM 250 SXF, supported by Athena, won the GP and increased its overall lead in the ranking, which now sees 45 points ahead of the second place. Jonass is followed by Jeremy Seewer (Team Suzuki World MX2) who is on board his Suzuki RMZ 250 equipped with the control unit RX1 EVO, the data acquisition system M40 and the innovative Launch Control LC-GPA system. On the third step of the podium, Brian Boogers (HSF Logistics Motorsports) aboard its KTM SX-F 250 equipped with the control unit RX1 EVO, the data acquisition system M40 and the innovative Launch Control LC-GPA system . In the MXGP continues the run of Antonio Cairoli (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), which with the KTM 450 SXF supported by Athena won the second place in race 1 and the ninth position in the final moto. The TC222 drove the first fraction up to a few laps from the end when it was overtaken by team mate Jeffrey Herlings (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) also riding a KTM 450 SXF supported by Athena. In Race 2, racing on a difficult and very insidious track, Tony preferred to manage the situation settling down in the top ten (ninth). Antonio remains firmly leader of the overall ranking with 45 points ahead on the second position. Herlings closed the GP in second place after closing race 2 in eighth place. Excellent overall performance of Romain Febvre (Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Team), which raced its Yamaha YZF 450 equipped with the control unit RX1 EVO, the data acquisition system M40 and the innovative Launch Control LC-GPA system. The French, MXGP's 2015 world champion, finished the GP in sixth place with second place in the second moto after having scored the hole shot and led the group till a few laps from the end.
